'Calm, cool and collected' Calgary curler Kayla Skrlik steps boldly into first Scotties yyc
“It’s go in and play a couple of close games against the good teams and beat the teams that we’re ranked above and try our best to be in a playoff spot going into the end of the week,” said Skrlik in laying down a basic game plan for the 10-day, 18-team spiel which opens late Friday . “We went undefeated in provincials, but really, we just played every game one at a time and just went off of that.
“It was an amazing shot,” said Skrlik’s younger sibling Ashton of the point made to defeat favoured Casey Scheidegger 9-8 in the provincial championship finale. “For her to stay calm cool and collected during it was outstanding. It is her in the nutshell. She is very calm on the ice, which is great, especially for her teammates.
