Calgarians raise funds for cancer research with Terry Fox Run yyc
Locals of all ages ran a 3.3-kilometre loop around Fort Calgary, raising nearly $250,000 for the Terry Fox Foundation. “I just physically cannot do it anymore. My hands and shoulders are saying that 54 years on crutches is enough. They’re telling me that I have to stop,” said Cowie, adding that he’s happy schools host Terry Fox Runs for young students to learn about the Canadian hero.Article content At the event, Bret “The Hitman” Hart said the day of the Terry Fox Run is the most important day to him as a Canadian.
“I can’t think of a better way to give back to a great Canadian and a great cause, and I think it’s an incredible journey.”
