A policeman and two civilians, including a teenager, were wounded after they were shot by a member of the Civilian Armed Forces Geographical Unit (Cafgu) in a fiesta in Barangay Alimango, Escalante City, Negros Occidental on Saturday, July 1.

A POLICEMAN is treated in a private hospital in Bacolod City after he was shot by a Cafgu when he responded to a commotion in a fiesta in Barangay Alimango, Escalante City, Negros Occidental on Saturday, July 1. The victims were identified as Police Master Sgt. Teofesto Aburido, Jeban Sayon, 18, of Barangay Alimango, and Jay-r Garganera, 34, of Toboso town, Negros Occidental.

Ruiz said the Cafgu confronted the sheriff after he saw the latter talking to his alleged lover during the fiesta.Aburido tried to pacify them, but another comjmotion occurred between the two, leading to a shooting incident, according to Ruiz. Ruiz said that Aburido suffered a lone bullet wound in the chest with an exit wound on his lower back, while Sayon sustained a bullet wound in the stomach and Garganera was hit in the left ankle.
