MANILA, Philippines — Nine-time PBA champion Alex Cabagnot is making a comeback in the Philippine professional cage league after signing a new deal with Converge.
The FiberXers, who are in a coaching transition, signed the 41-year-old Cabagnot to a deal in a move that was announced officially via their official social media accounts.The length of the deal wasn't specified though. Cabagnot is returning to the PBA after not getting a fresh deal with the Terrafirma Dyip last December. He will be reunited with Converge assistant coach Danny Ildefonso, his teammate from 2011 to 2013 during their time together with the Petron/SMB franchise.
After his stint with the Dyip, the left-handed Filipino-American signed a deal with the Goyang Sono Skygunners in the Korean Basketball League, where he averaged 4.0 points and 1.3 assists in 10 minutes per contest.He then, spent the past months playing for the Taiwan Mustangs, becoming part of the team's five-game sweep en route to ruling The Asian Tournament fourth leg last week.The Mustangs were reinforced by former NBA stars Dwight Howard, DeMarcus Cousins and Quinn Cook.
