Pasay City – The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines underscores its commitment to enforcing the mandate that requires all passengers, including those boarding private aircraft to undergo security checks at designated terminals in accordance with Memorandum Circular 005-2023
Under the directive issued by the CAAP and signed by Director General Capt. Manuel Antonio L. Tamayo, all Area Center Managers and Airport Managers are instructed to oversee the processing of all documentary and security requirements for arriving and departing passengers at CAAP-operated airports, with the exception of military flights. The policy underscores CAAP’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of aviation security.
This strict implementation of the memorandum has been praised by Department of the Interior and Local Government Secretary Benjamin Abalos Jr. During his visit to Laguindingan Airport last September 3, Secretary Abalos himself went through comprehensive security screening at the terminal, showcasing the effective execution of the policy.
The Memorandum Circular, issued February last year, was also prompted by Senator Raffy Tulfo’s push for ensuring that even “VIP” passengers undergo the same comprehensive screening as regular passengers, thereby enhancing security and preventing potential illegal activities. #with file photoPresident Marcos denies he is ill: ‘I do not even have a cold.
