MANILA - Tropical depression Butchoy is bringing rains over several areas in Luzon Friday as it moves towards the Pampanga-Tarlac area, state weather agency PAGASA said Thursday night. In its 11 p.m.

advisory, PAGASA said Butchoy was last spotted near Baliuag, Bulacan, packing maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour near the center with gusts of up to 75 kph.Butchoy earlier made landfall in Polillo at 5:30 p.m. and in Infanta at 6 p.m.PAGASA said moderate to heavy with at times intense rains will be experienced in parts of Luzon.

Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Central Luzon, northern portion of Palawan, including Calamian and Cuyo Islands, Oriental Mindoro and Western Visayas, among others, meanwhile, are expected to experience moderate and heavy rains. Flooding and rain-induced landslides may occur during heavy or prolonged rainfall in affected areas, it warned.

Moderate to rough seas with waves of 1.2 meters to 3.4 meters will also be experienced over the seaboards of Luzon and Visayas in the next 24 hours, according to PAGASA.
