Despite his previous detention, Lee remains confident that the truth will prevail through the legal process. “Walang illegal detention na nangyari. We never detained him for more than a day. We never inflicted serious physical injuries…nagkasakitan lang. Hindi dapat nagkaroon ng life imprisonment,” he pointed out.
The court’s decision on Thursday found Lee, Cornejo, Ferdinand Guerrero, and Simeon Raz guilty of illegally detaining Vhong Navarro in 2014, sentencing them to reclusion perpetua, equivalent to up to 40 years of imprisonment.
