Business sentiment remained positive, but the confidence index fell to 31.2 percent from 44.5 percent three months earlier and the 33.1 percent recorded a year ago, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas reported on Friday.
Among trading firms, the CIs of dual-activity firms — those engaged in both importing and exporting — and domestic-oriented companies were lower compared to the fourth quarter of last year. Sentiment for the period was 'little changed,' however, among importers. For the second quarter, the business outlook rose among almost all types of trading firms except for importers, the BSP said.
