A conductor was killed and several people were hurt in a vehicular accident involving a passenger bus and a truck in Taguig on Thursday, June 29.

In a report by the Vehicular Traffic Investigation Unit of the Taguig police, the accident happened at about 4:30 a.m. on C5 Road near the Heritage Park u-turn slot in Barangay Western Bicutan.The police identified the fatality as Arnel Aquino, bus conductor. The drivers of the two vehicles were identified as Richard Ocampo, truck driver, and Alfredo De Lara, driver of the JAC Liner bus.

According to the VTIU, the bus was maneuvering along the u-turn slot when the truck struck the right side portion of the bus. The impact resulted in the truck turning on its side and the conductor was thrown through the bus windshield, landing on the truck. A doctor arrived at the scene and declared Aquino dead on-the-spot.

Passengers in the bus who were hurt were identified as Maria Legaspi, Michael Dela Rosa, Mary Dela Rosa, Mark Anthony Aram, Ricson Quisado, Christian Escanta, Jade Darryl Brett Gooc, Mercelen Gayona, Victor Randy Inofre, Francis Dignom, and Marimar Mercado. The body of Aquino was transferred to the Our Lady of Loreto Funeral Homes for autopsy. The two vehicles are under the custody of VTIU for documentation.
