The city government of Cadiz in Negros Occidental is looking into giving livelihood assistance to the family of slain overseas Filipino worker Loreta Alacre. Loreta's remains arrived at his home at Sitio Camay-an, Barangay Cadiz Viejo, Cadiz City Sunday, October 22, and were met by family and close friends. The family said they could not bear to see her face which was beyond recognition and was already bloated when they opened her casket upon arrival.
Escalante said they are looking into giving livelihood assistance to Loreta's sister, Nelia Alacre, who has decided that she will no longer return to Kuwait where she is also working as an OFW. Aside from the livelihood assistance, Escalante also said that they will give scholarship grants to Loreta's nieces and nephews.
