Muntinlupa has recorded one confirmed case of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) but it is neither an employee nor a prisoner under the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor).

BuCor spokesperson Gabriele Chaclag told Manila Bulletin that the infected person lives in the NBP reservation and that the main prison facility has no COVID-19 case to date.

A tally of COVID-19 cases on April 7 released by the Muntinlupa City government showed that there are 71 positive cases in the city, up from 64 on April 6. There are five positive cases in Bgy. Poblacion: one each in NBP, Katarungan Village and Southville 3, all located in the NBP reservation, and two in Camella.

Bgy. Putatan has 11, including one death and one who recovered at Soldiers’ Hills, Lower Putatan, La Charina, Express View Villas, South Greenheights, Country Homes Subdivision, Midland, and San Guillermo.
