BSP orders banks to accept PhilID as top document

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas on Wednesday ordered banks and other BSP-supervised financial institutions under its supervision to prioritize the Philippine Identification Card as the primary form of valid identification.

Before this, several banks refused to recognize PhilID presented by depositors as a valid documents because of the absence of signature and address.
