French President Emmanuel Macron met with his Chinese counterpart in Beijing in an effort to push for peace in the Ukraine conflict, with Xi Jinping issuing his own message to the world about the war.

"I know I can count on you to bring Russia to its senses, and bring everyone back to the negotiating table." "The situation with Ukraine is complex, so far there are no prospects for a peaceful settlement," he said.
