The reconstruction of the structurally damaged Governor Miranda Bridge 1, which connects Tagum City and Carmen, is set to begin. Tagum City Mayor Rey T. Uy met with DPWH officials to finalize the project, which is expected to ease traffic and improve access for residents.
THE long-awaited reconstruction of Governor Miranda Bridge 1 , which links Tagum City and the municipality of Carmen , is finally set to begin. Tagum City Mayor Rey T. Uy visited the old bridge on July 30, 2025, and met with officials from the Department of Public Works and Highways to discuss the project's implementation.The DPWH confirmed that the bridge will be rebuilt in phases, with support from the office of Congressman Oyo Uy.
“Mapasalamaton kita sa National Government, pinaagi sa DPWH, sa pagtubag sa atong panawagan arun mailisan na ang naguba nga tulay. Dakong tabang kini arun mas paspas na nga makabyahe ang katawhan diri sa atong syudad sa Tagum ug mga silingan nga lugar ,',” the City Government of Tagum posted on Facebook.Uy also expressed hope that residents will soon be able to use the Miranda Bridge 1 again and that more infrastructure projects will follow to support the city’s growth.
