Paramedics treated the 42-year-old woman driving the sedan at the scene for minor injuries but the eight-year-old boy who was a passenger in the car suffered serious head injuries. 9News
He was airlifted to John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition for treatment.The 51-year-old female SUV driver underwent a roadside breath test which allegedly returned a positive result.
She was taken back to Gosford Police Station where she underwent another breath test which allegedly returned a reading of 0.197 - more than triple the legal limit.Investigators will now review the charges.
