CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga — Police discovered an estimated P39 million worth of suspected high-grade marijuana inside a 'balikbayan box' in Balagtas, Bulacan on Wednesday, Nov. 20.A report received by Police Regional Office 3 director BGen Redrico Maranan from Col. Satur Ediong, Bulacan police provincial director, said that the confiscated marijuana weighs 26 kilograms and packed in 52 plastic sachets inside of one of the three boxes sent from abroad.
Upon examination, 52 sealed plastic sachets containing suspected high-grade marijuana worth P39 million were discovered inside the package.Authorities are still investigating the incident to determine who else may be involved and how extensive the syndicate's operation is.The police said this may be part of a wider international drug trade in the country.The police are also investigating how it got through customs and other related agencies.
