BACOLOD CITY – Victorias City is embarking on another milestone with the launching of its first-ever history book written by renowned Negrosanon historian Modesto Sa-onoy, on Thursday.
'This book captures the essence of who we are,' Negros Occidental Mayor Javier Miguel Benitez said in his message.Benitez pointed out that, through the history book, the legacy of Victorias shall be preserved for future generations.
Victorias City Mayor Javier Miguel Benitez receives a signed copy of the book titled ‘History of Victorias 1845- 1945’ from historian Modesto Sa-onoy and his wife Verobina. The book, titled 'History of Victorias 1845-1945,' featured the early years of Victorias from being an ancient settlement known as Malihaw until it grew as a thriving municipality during the post-war era.The mayor said among the remarkable events included in the book are the growth of the education landscape and the development of the various industries in the city.
