“Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr. criticized on Saturday the Department of Health for its supposed failure to protect health workers by pointing out that the Philippines has the highest ratio of deaths among frontliners in the world.“It is a crisis…this is not right,’’ Marcos said in a DWIZ radio interview where he announced that he was declared COVID-19 free last week after fighting the disease in his Makati residence for two months.
He also said the country should adopt the examples of other countries such as South Korea in containing the virus by conducting massive testing and contact tracing.As the national government uses scarce resources to give special amelioration program funds to the needy, Marcos said there is a need to revitalize the economy and help frontliners by giving them materials and equipment such as personal protective equipment.
