MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Customs Port of Clark has confiscated P1.1 million worth of kush marijuana concealed inside imported coffee packs from California.

According to BOC, the shipment arrived in the country on September 8 and was declared as “coffee t-shirt bookbag.” It was then profiled and referred for a “non-intrusive examination which revealed suspicious images.”Three t-shirts, a book, and three packs of supposed coffee beans were found in the shipment upon physical examination.

“However, during physical examination, the Customs Examiner closely noticed the sweet aroma of coffee beans prompting him to open the same considering that it is unusual to produce a smell when they are sealed and packed,” the BOC said in a statement Saturday night.
