A base hit by Elsie dela Torre and a catching error by the Czech catcher allowed Gabriel to score the go-ahead run for the Philippines.Pitcher Royevel Palma then took care of business in the bottom of the seventh inning to secure the win for the Blu Girls. Czechia is No. 9 in the world rankings and the Philippines is 15th. Amateur Softball Association of the Philippines president Jean Henri Lhuillier expressed his immense pride and excitement upon hearing the news.
