Only a few major differences will be tacked by the bicameral conference committee on disagreeing provisions of the 2025 budget according to Senate Finance Committee Chair Senator Grace Poe.
Sen. Grace L. Poe delivers her opening remarks as the head of Senate panel and chairperson of the Committee on Finance during the bicameral conference meeting on the disagreeing provisions of the proposed P6.352-trillion 2025 national budget on Thursday, Nov. 28.
"Sa ngayon, magco-convene ang technical working group composed of representatives from House and the Senate — usually mga secretariat. Tapos doon natin marereconcile yung mga pagkakaiba. Actually kaunti lang naman yung mga major na pagkakaiba roon eh ," Poe said in a chance interview. She mentioned for example, the Ayuda sa Kapos ang Kita Program which was reverted to the National Expenditure Program level. The P39.8-billion AKAP was not part of the 2025 NEP but was inserted by the House in its version of the General Appropriations Act .
"Mukhang marami pa tayong trabaho pero malapit nang mag-Pasko. . So, let’s get to it. Let’s debate, deliberate, and decide, but always keeping in mind the millions of Filipinos counting on us to get this right," she addded.
