Bacolod City Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez has appointed two new members to the Bacolod City Water District Board of Directors, effective January 1, 2025. Baciwa General Manager Mona Dia Jardin announced the appointment of Edgardo Uychiat and former councilor Sonia Verdeflor, who will serve as replacements for Lawrence Villanueva, representing the business and commercial sector, and Dr. Rebecca Filasol, representing the professional sector.

Uychiat will represent the business and commercial sector, while Verdeflor will represent the professional sector. Both will serve for six years, until 2031. Jardin also noted that other current board members include Lorendo Dilag, representing the education sector; Rich Ann Zayco, representing the civic sector; and Clarissa Araneta, representing women’s organizations. Although Dilag’s term was supposed to end in 2022, Mayor Benitez reappointed him, and his term will now run until 2028.
