Canucks centre has hit career highs for goals, points, revolving wingers
Bo Horvat is like an anxious student who purposely sits in the front row, in clear view of a demanding teacher.
The future captain scored twice Wednesday against the Ottawa Senators to push his career-high total to 27 and match Elias Pettersson for the club lead. He has also taken his presence in the faceoff circle — especially when Jay Beagle and Brandon Sutter were sidelined — to a higher level and his improved two-way play has fuelled a career-best 57 points after 74 games in 20:55 of average ice time.
“You just have to go and play. I’m trying to be as positive as I can and look at the bright side of things. You’re still getting tons of minutes and playing in key situations and eventually things will happen for you.”“I think it does,” he added. “I hope it does rub off on guys that it doesn’t matter who you play with, or how much you play or who you play with. Just work hard.”
