MANILA, Philippines: Bella Belen struggled offensively in NU's 25-22, 25-16, 25-15 win over Ateneo , scoring a career-low two points in the UAAP Season 86 women's volleyball tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena on Wednesday, April 10. Belen , the Season 84 Rookie of the Year and Most Valuable Player, said her poor scoring performance that saw her hit just one of her 18 attack attempts was due to a lower back pain, which took away her usual steady offensive game.

'Belen compensated for her poor scoring performance with nine excellent digs and five receptions albeit that statistics is still low compared to her floor defense numbers this season.'For me, regardless if you're in pain or not, it's not an excuse to play terribly. I need to find a way to contribute. If I can't help offensively, I was going to help on the defensive side of things.
