MANILA, Philippines — San Miguel Beer brought in veteran guard Kris Rosales to add to its already loaded backcourt after the Filipino-American was unconditionally released by NorthPort last July 22.

'We just picked him up when he was unconditionally released by NorthPort based on the PBA memo dated July 22,' SMB team manager Gee Abanilla told The Manila Times.Abanilla added the SMB coaching staff, led by head coach Jorge Gallent expressed their desire to take in the 33-year-old sweet-shooting guard out of Hope International University. Before joining NorthPort, Rosales was an integral part of then NLEX coach Frankie Lim's rotation that saw him average 11.7 points on 36.

NLEX eventually traded Rosales, along with Don Trollano, Ben Adamos and the Season 49 second round pick to NorthPort to acquire the services of Robert Bolick and Kent Salado last December during the Commissioner's Cup.Rosales' numbers though suffered a dip, playing just 14.3 minutes per contest during the Philippine Cup in his first full conference with the Batang Pier. His per-game average also went down with just 3.3 points, 1.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists.
