The Department of the Interior and Local Government urged unvaccinated individuals on Friday, Nov. 19, to “be modern heroes” and rekindle the traditional bayanihan spirit by participating in the National Vaccination Day.DILG Undersecretary Jonathan Malaya said the National Vaccination Day dubbed as “Bayanihan, Bakunahan” will take place from Nov. 29 to Dec. 1, coinciding with the Bonifacio Day on Nov. 30.

For the unvaccinated individuals, Malaya appealed to have themselves get inoculated so the government can achieve its vaccination target by the end of the year. Malaya said that the government was already in the “preparatory phase’’ of the National Vaccination Day as the National Vaccination Operations Center is now scrutinizing the target areas of every LGUs.

The DILG spokesperson noted that the Armed Forces of the Philippines , Philippine National Police , Bureau of Jail Management and Penology and the Bureau of Fire Protection and other agencies and stakeholders were tapped to provide additional assistance to the national vaccination program.
