The mayor of Barili, Cebu died early Sunday morning, six days after his brother passed away.
CEBU CITY –
Marlon Garcia joined his brother Nelson, the former mayor of Dumanjug town, according to their brother, former Government Service Insurance System President Winston Garcia in a post on Facebook.The cause of death was not specified, although the late mayor’s sister, Cebu Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia, confirmed in a speech on August 2 that Marlon was infected with the new coronavirus disease 2019 .
“To lose one brother is painful enough, but to lose another brother in the same week, my heart just can not take any further. The true fighter that he was, my brother, Marlon has been fighting for his life for the last few weeks,” Winston said.
