THE long wait is over.
After almost two years of conceptualization and preparation, the professional Sharks Billiards Association has finally arrived.Its first official activity was the draft on Sunday at the Quantum Skyview of Gateway Mall 2 in Cubao, Quezon City, where the four local teams picked their respective players for the inaugural tournament.Jericho Banares, one of the country's promising young players, was drafted first overall by the Quezon City Dragons.
'The SBA aims to give millions of Filipino billiards enthusiasts the opportunity to hone and showcase their skills and promote the love of the game — by ensuring integrity and fairness for professional billiards in the Philippines,' said SBA Chief Executive Officer and founder Hadley Mariano, who also thanked the Games and Amusements Board for sanctioning and supporting the pro league.
