" Balota " starring Marian Rivera has landed on Netflix's list of "Top 10-Non English Movies Worldwide."As seen in a post by GMA Pictures, the Cinemalaya 2024 entry currently ranks eighth on the list.Previously, the Kapuso Primetime Queen expressed her gratitude as " Balota " hit the no. 1 spot in Philippines movies shortly after it premiered on Netflix on January 31.
"Directed by Kip Oebanda, "Balota" premiered at Cinemalaya 2024 and had a nationwide theatrical release with a new cut in October.It follows the story of a land-grabbing tycoon and a former male sexy actor locked in a tight race for the mayoral seat of a small town. When violence erupts, a teacher runs into the forest with a ballot box containing the last copy of the election results.
