The Gilas Pilipinas naturalized player led the way in scoring for the Indonesian crew with 12 points although they hardly threatened the Dragonflies who went off to a hot start and never looked back from there.

The Japan B.League champions Hiroshima Dragonflies stamped their class and routed Justin Brownlee and his Indonesian team Pelita Jaya, 86-69, in the opening day of the Basketball Champions League Asia on Sunday, June 9, in Dubai.

Hiroshima opened the contest with a 13-3 blast and it was a lopsided affair from thereon as the Japanese led by as many as 30 points in the romp. The Dragonflies were also on target from deep, drilling 17 triples on a high 45-percent clip led by Toshiki Kamisawa who fired 20 points built on six treys.

Import Dwyane Evans added a double-double of 18 points and 13 rebounds as four other players scored in double-figures for Hiroshima. Brownlee did everything he could adding four rebounds and three steals but were not enough even as other import James Dickey added 11 points and 17 rebounds.related stories
