Makati shone brightly once again as the annual ceremonial lighting of the Christmas decorations along Ayala Avenue lighted on Thursday.

According to Oscar Oida's report on "24 Oras," at 6 p.m., Makati City officials and Ayala Land Inc. executives led the ceremonial lighting of the giant lanterns along the busy avenue signaling the start of the Christmas season.

Two years after settling for simple designs due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Makati brought back its fancy and even brighter decors this year, including ten giant lanterns from Pampanga, symbolizing the hope and spirit of Pinoy Christmas. For over 60 years, the annual Christmas lighting has been carried out in the city to honor the Pinoy Christmas tradition.—Sherylin Untalan/LDF, GMA News
