THE average cost of power in July increased to P3.99 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) from P3.86 in June, the Independent Electricity Market Operator of the Philippines (IEMOP) said in a media briefing on Wednesday.

Average supply was at 14,540 MW, lower than 15,076 MW; while average demand was at 9,710 MW, also lower than 10,400 MW in the same period.In the Visayas, electricity sold for P4.39 per kWh, likewise also an increase from P3.93 per kWh in the same period.Supply was measured at 2,530 MW in July, down from 2,635 MW in June, while demand was at 1,998 MW, also a decrease from 2,033 MW.In Mindanao, average cost was P3.80 per kWh, up from P3.54 per kWh in June.
