CJ AUSTRIA drained a buzzer-beating triple to lift De La Salle University past Adamson University, 81-78, and end its four-game skid in University Athletic Association of the Philippines Season 85 men’s basketball action Thursday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
“I’ve been telling the boys we can’t lose our poise out there. The shot from CJ there, it was a shot from heaven,” De La Salle coach Derrick Pumaren said. “We worked hard for it.” Leading the Soaring Falcons was Joshua Yerro had 19 points and five assists and Aaron Flowers finished with 15 points and five rebounds for the Soaring Falcons.
The Red Warriors came to within two after a Luis Villegas’s triple with more than three minutes remaining, but the Bulldogs answered back with seven straight points capped by Steve Nash Enriquez’s three-pointer with 1:31 to go.
