Noah woke up on Good Friday and then had major surgery on Wednesday, which involved removing his skull to repair the fractured areas and damage to his brain membrane. Noah will require occupational therapy, rehabilitation, speech therapy and physiotherapy on his long recovery journey and could be in the Royal Children’s Hospital for months.“The first 72 hours after a head injury is the most crucial so when he made it through that they were all very happy and continue to be happy with each small progression.

Noah’s parents, Rachael and Stephen, have been by his side since the accident, and Melissa said they were the “most positive and strongest people” she knows.“Obviously it’s an emotional rollercoaster . There are good days, there are bad days. There are ups and downs. Seeing him in the state he was in was extremely hard for them but they remained positive for the entire time,” she said.
