Despite climbing the surfing rankings rapidly in recent times, Ewing is aware he’s still rounding out his skillset.“It’s pretty crazy. I’m still trying to learn that wave a lot, everyone’s really hungry - just because the waves are so good. Everyone wants to get the wave of their life.”
“I was so worried if I was going to come back and be able to surf so I think that’s made me really aware of how important training and stuff like that is and just staying on top of that.”Credit:Ewing credits his dad Bill as the biggest supporter of his career, grateful that he can now pay him back on a shared global adventure.
“Now he travels with me, and it’s just so good to bring him along. He’s seeing all these places he didn’t get a chance to when he was young. Being on the WSL Tour means surfing waves all across the world, and Ewing says there’s a lot of preparation involved in shaping his surfing style to the specific event.
