The V12 isn’t dead for the British carmaker
“All will be vanquished,” said Aston Martin, in the world’s least cryptic code about where its new, entirely overhauled, and fresh-for-2024 V12 engine will find a home. The Aston Martin Vanquish will return, and it’ll host a completely new Aston Martin V12 engine.
So, welcome to 2024, where all your heroes aren’t dead. The British carmaker confirms it has committed to the V12 by thoroughly overhauling and redesigning it to pack more power and torque than ever before.No turbos, no hybrids, just a 9,500rpm V12: Behold, the new Ferrari 12 CilindriAnd it’s a feast for engine enthusiasts.
Said injectors are said to better optimize the whole ‘continuous series of tiny explosions’ bit, while also being more efficient than before. There’s a new set of turbochargers bolted onto the twelve-cylinder’s flanks, too, with less inertia for more bang and better throttle response.And there’s a significant bang coming this time.
“The V12 engine has long been a symbol of power and prestige, but it is also a statement of engineering passion and technical prowess,” said Aston Martin’s chief technical officer Roberto Fedelli. “With and 1,000Nm of torque, this unparalleled engine represents nothing less than the dawn of a dazzling new V12 era for Aston Martin.”
So apparently, “all will be vanquished” when this new V12 will make its debut in Aston’s ‘flagship model’ later in 2024. The Aston Martin Vanquish will return.
