As PH celebrates Holy Week, Duterte urges Filipinos to pray. COVID19 SemanaSanta2020

MANILA - President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday urged Filipinos to unite in prayer as the country continues to battle the coronavirus disease 2019 epidemic.

“This being the Holy Week, I am calling on the nation to come together, this Holy Wednesday afternoon and pay tribute to the indomitable spirit of the Filipino and unite in one prayer to God to fight one common enemy,” he said during a televised address aired Monday night.Duterte on Monday also said the national government may extend the ongoing lockdown of Luzon, home to half of the Philippines' 100-million population, until April 30 to curb the spread of COVID-19.

With the possible quarantine extension, people may be required to stay at home further to avoid transmission of the disease.
