ILOILO CITY — Antique Gov. Rhodora Cadiao announced her plan to run for Congress in the 2025 midterm elections.
Cadiao, who is in her last term as the governor of the province, announced her candidacy on September 6 at the Esprutingkle Convention Center in San Jose de Buenavista.The governor told The Manila Times one of her priorities when elected as representative of Antique is to divide the province into two congressional districts.' Antique is a big province with a population of over 650,000 and we have exceeded the population for one congressional district as required by the law,' she said.
'That's the promise of Loren when she was still the congresswoman and also the promise of AA. They already served several terms yet they have not delivered it,' Cadiao said.Meanwhile, Cadiao also endorsed Department of the Interior and Local Government Undersecretary and former Pandan mayor Jonathan Tan for governor, and former Caluya Mayor Genevive Lim-Reyes for vice governor of Antique in the 2025 polls.
