Vancouver Sun wine expert Anthony Gismondi’s news from the wine and food world, recommended B.C. wine of the week.
Ubuntu Canteen is the latest David Gunawan project from the locavore chef who opened the notable Farmer’s Apprentice and Grapes & Soda.
It’s a bakery and a full-service espresso bar that night morphs into a homespun restaurant. Of note is the Sunday Supper Series, served up commune-style on long tables at 5 p.m. in the dining room. Each week the series showcases a visiting chef who will prepare an inexpensive home-cooked meal that reflects their background, training or culinary style. For more info log onto ubuntucanteen.ca.
