ANOTHER Filipino national was confirmed to have perished due to the wildfires in Maui, Hawaii, the Department of Foreign Affairs said Tuesday, August 22, 2023.

DFA Undersecretary Eduardo de Vega identified the fatality as Rodolfo Rocutan, 76, a resident of Lahaina in Maui.De Vega said the Philippine Consulate in Hawaii has reached out to a relative of Rocutan to convey its deepest sympathies and offer the Philippine government's support and assistance, including cremation and repatriation of remains as requested.

Last week, the first Filipino fatality due to the massive wildfire in Maui was identified as Alfredo Galinato, 79.
