KOTA KINABALU: Former foreign minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman will be made a senator, says Parti Cinta Sabah secretary-general Datuk James Ligunjang.
“Yes, it’s true that he will be sworn in as a senator at the Dewan Negara. As to when he received the notice, you have to ask him ,” Ligunjang said when contacted yesterday.His appointment as a senator is believed to be made following a recommendation from Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.The 69-year-old former Kimanis MP did not contest in GE15. However, he had been campaigning for Pakatan Harapan candidates and attended their campaign programmes.
Among them was a ceramah in Putatan which was attended by Anwar, who is Pakatan chairman and PKR president.
