ANGELES CITY — Solar lights will be installed in all major and secondary roads in the city by October 2024, in line with the project of Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. to promote a sustainable, eco-friendly, and safe environment.
Lazatin’s Chief Adviser IC Calaguas said a total of 1,500 solar lights were already purchased and delivered to the city government. The said materials have since been inspected by the General Services Office led by Evangeline Malonzo. “This has been the commitment of the Lazatin administration to promote renewable energy,” Calaguas said.
The City Engineers Office headed by Helen Ayro, who is tasked with the installation of the solar lights and poles, has already started the markings and is now building the foundation for the solar lights.“We will exhaust all our efforts to protect and enhance our environment and light up Angeles City, not only in aesthetics, but more importantly for keeping city streets safe at night,” Lazatin previously said during his June 2022 inaugural speech.
