EXCLUSIVE: Australia’s richest couple, Andrew and Nicola Forrest, have separated but insist the strategic direction of the mining giant they control, Fortescue Metals Group, will not be affected by their decision to pursue independent lives.
Mr and Ms Forrest have spent long periods apart since 2020, when he started globe-trotting during the COVID-19 pandemic in pursuit of renewable energy projects for what has become Fortescue’s clean energy division, Fortescue Future Industries.
Their pledge to be unified on the future direction of Fortescue is understood to include the company’sThe assurance is designed to soothe investors who watched billionaire It is understood Tattarang – which holds almost 65 per cent of the Forrest family’s Fortescue shares – will vote in accordance with decisions of the Fortescue board in future.
