BACOLOD CITY--- A painting by national artist Fernando Amorsolo was reported missing from the private collection of the Hofileña Museum at Cinco de Noviembre Street in Silay City, Negros Occidental. The missing painting titled 'Mango Harvesters,' is part of the museum's private collection displayed in a room on the second floor.
Large bags of visitors to the museum are usually surrendered and stored in a room while the tour is underway but on Wednesday this was not done as the museum was undermanned, she said. When the painting was discovered missing the first batch of tourists had already left, she added. Police LtCol. Mark Darroca, Silay City police chief, said they have two to three suspects based on CCTV footage at the musem.
