ALTERNERGY Holdings Corp. said Monday that regulators had approved connecting its 64-megawatt Alabat Wind Power Project to the Luzon grid. The company told the stock exchange that the Energy Regulatory Commission had approved the firm’s application to develop and own a dedicated point-to-point transmission facility, which involves the installation of a substation at the wind farm and a 37-kilometer transmission system from Barangay Villa Norte in Alabat to Barangay Hondagua in Lopez, Quezon.
The infrastructure will connect to the existing 69-kilovolt Gumaca-Tagkawayan-Lopez transmission line of National Grid Corp. of the Philippines in Lopez, Quezon.“This is another significant milestone achieved, bringing us closer to completing the Alabat Wind Power Project,” Alternergy President Gerry Magbanua said in a statement.
