The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) announced it has made the issuance of Alien Employment Permit (AEP) to foreign nationals (FN) much faster and more reliable by further “decentralizing” the processing of the document.

THE Department of Labor and Employment announced it has made the issuance of Alien Employment Permit to foreign nationals much faster and more reliable by further “decentralizing” the processing of the document.

“This will keep all [AEP] transactions in the regions. They [applicants] will no longer have to go to the Office of the Secretary,” Laguesma said during the 43rd National Conference of Employers. Prior to the said memorandum, all processed AEPs are sent to the DOLE Central Office to be signed by the Labor Secretary before it can be issued by the regional offices.

“It will be easier for us now with the issuance of the AEPs. Now that we have full autonomy, it will also help lessen our problem since it will now allow us to easily detect spurious AEPs,” Mirasol told the BusinessMirror.
