FILIPINO tennis sensation Alex Eala continues her 2025 season in India as she opens her campaign at the W100 Bengaluru on Wednesday.
Eala faces a familiar foe in Arianne Hartono of the Netherlands in the first round of the tournament.The 19-year-old Eala faced the 28-year-old Hartono twice and even defeated her senior in those two matches. The Filipino ace went on to win the whole tournament for her fourth professional title.Eala and Hartono crossed paths again as they battled at the W125 Canberra International on Jan.1, with the former winning in the second round, 6-3, 6-3.Eala would reach as far as the semifinals of the tournament before heading to the Australian Open qualifiers.There, Eala made a quick exit after falling to Croatian Jana Fett, 7-5, 6-2, on Jan. 7.
