Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has flagged Australians will start to see the fruits of a"much improved relationship" with China in the coming weeks.

The Prime Minister on Friday said"further measures and activities" will soon be implemented which indicate a repairing of relations that reached a low in early 2020. "I'm hopeful that any of the barriers to normal economic activity are removed and that we have stronger economic relations," he told the"China's our major economic partner. And I think in coming weeks, you will see further measures and activities which indicate a much improved relationship.

Trade and Tourism Minister Don Farrell earlier this month revealed he was"hopeful" the trade restrictions would be removed after meeting Chinese ambassador Xiao Qian. Meanwhile, the Prime Minister was asked on Thursday by Sky News Australia's Chief News Anchor Kieran Gilbert if he would seek to visit Beijing early next year, if possible.

"So, that makes a big change from the previous term of Parliament when there was no contact, not even phone contact. And that's not a healthy situation."
