The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) has assured the operational readiness of its systems and comprehensive contingency plans to manage potential flight disruptions and smooth airport operations. The Office for Transport Security (OTS) has directed heightened security inspections and assessments at various transportation hubs, while also ensuring the 24/7 operation of the Transport Security Operations Center.
Airport authorities increased security measures nationwide in anticipation of a higher number of passengers during the Christmas holiday season.
Comprehensive contingency measures have also been established to address potential flight disruptions and to ensure smooth airport operations amid the influx of travelers. In a related effort, Office for Transport Security Administrator Undersecretary Crizaldo Nieves directed auditors across civil aviation, maritime, road, and rail sectors to inspect various transportation hubs.
Additionally, all leave requests for OTS Security Screening Officers have been canceled in anticipation of the expected increase in passenger volume during the Christmas season.
