Will AI 'crush' jobs? Maybe, maybe not. But it's definitely something that is being discussed at Goldman Sachs' big annual tech conference Communicopia. Yahoo Finance's Brian Sozzi and Allie Garfinkle are at the conference talking to CEOs and executives who are attending. 'AI is everywhere in this conference,' Sozzi says, but where there's talk of AI, there will usually be talk of Nvidia (NVDA). Garfinkle explains that it was standing room only at an event featuring a Nvidia vice president. She also says that Microsoft (MSFT) is 'everywhere,' given that it has a role in everything from cybersecurity to the cloud. BUFFALO, N.Y. — Toronto Blue Jays right-hander Alek Manoah has been placed on the temporarily inactive list by the team's Triple-A affiliate. The move by the Buffalo Bisons opens a roster spot as Manoah builds back up after missing almost a month of game action. He remains with the team, which was scheduled to play the Lehigh Valley IronPigs on Tuesday night at Sahlen Field. Manoah, who has struggled for most of the season, was optioned to the Buffalo Bisons on Aug.

Goldman Sachs cuts chances of US recession in next one year to 15%The continued positive inflation and labor market data led to the cut, Goldman Sachs Chief Economist Jan Hatzius wrote in a note. The investment bank said it expected reacceleration in real disposable income next year on the back of continued solid job growth and rising real wages. U.S. consumer spending accelerated in July, but slowing inflation strengthened expectations that the Federal Reserve would keep interest rates unchanged in its policy meeting this month.
